Job Summary : The Staff Accountant assumes responsibility and accountability for maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records. Responsible for reconciling and reviewing general ledger accounts; posting entries; and researching and clearing stale items. This position plays an active role during the period end closing and provides support for other accounting service areas through assistance in problem resolution, research, and training. Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations. Daily cash tracking spreadsheet. Fix Non-post issues and other operation transactions. Assist with fixed asset record keeping and tracking. Assist with accounts payable workflow documentation and processing. Identify and research outstanding items. Perform duties related to the Bank Secrecy Act under the guidance of the BSA Officer. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Ability to be a proactive, energetic team player.
  • Ability to maintain thoroughness and accuracy in your work while operating under pressure and within short deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in business, finance, or accounting.
  • One to two years accounting experience in financial institutions is preferred.
