About The Position

This is a high-ownership role with a clear growth runway. You will step into an environment where the books are already clean and the processes are documented. Your job is to run our day-to-day accounting operations, partner closely with our outsourced accounting firm, and progressively take more of the close and compliance function in-house as you ramp.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with 5+ years and prior month-end close ownership
• Hands-on experience with AP, AR, and general ledger work in a modern cloud accounting stack (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar)
• Comfortable in Excel / Google Sheets (pivot tables, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, light modeling)
• Clear written communicator — you will be working across our exec team and an outsourced firm
• Self-starter who is energized by building and improving processes rather than maintaining a status quo

Nice To Haves

• CPA or active CPA candidate
• Prior experience at a SaaS or subscription business
• Prior experience transitioning work from an outsourced provider in-house
• Exposure to ASC 606, deferred revenue, and SaaS-specific metrics (ARR, MRR, NRR)
• Experience with Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Stripe, or similar modern finance tooling
• Personal or professional connection to trades, workforce development, or postsecondary education

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: vendor onboarding, bill entry, approval routing, payment runs, and vendor communications
• Accounts Receivable: customer invoicing, collections follow-up, cash application, and AR aging review
• Expense management: employee reimbursements, corporate card reconciliation, and receipt compliance
• Month-end close support: reconciliations, accruals, and working alongside our outsourced team to hit close deadlines
• Sales and use tax filings, 1099 preparation, and business license renewals
• Serving as the primary day-to-day point of contact with our external accounting and tax partners
