Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with 3-5 years of experience to support the accounting needs of our multi-entity restoration business. This role supports core accounting cycles, job costing, WIP schedules, payroll assistance, and intercompany activity. You will also support the accounting team during our transition to a new project management platform, helping improve workflows and data structure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the ability to perform more advanced accounting responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of accounting or advanced bookkeeping experience
  • Solid grasp of accrual accounting, debits/credits, and multi-entity structures
  • Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets skills (including advanced formulas)
  • Strong accuracy, organization, and willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in restoration, construction, or related job costing industries
  • Familiarity with WIP schedules and job costing
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Exposure to payroll processes
  • Involvement in software transitions or system implementations

Responsibilities

  • Support accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Prepare month-end/year-end journal entries (accruals, prepaids, adjustments)
  • Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and GL accuracy
  • Prepare sales and use tax filings for multiple entities
  • Support job cost tracking across labor, materials, and subcontractors
  • Assist with WIP schedules and job profitability reviews
  • Assist with intercompany entries and reconciliations, including managing due to/due from accounts
  • Ensure accurate job coding of labor
  • Assist with payroll adjustments, tracking, and reporting
  • Work in QuickBooks Online
  • Support implementation of new software (data, testing, workflows)
  • Help document SOPs and improve processes
