About The Position

We are currently looking for a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn our processes and coding structure. This is a mid-level accounting position supporting multiple entities that includes an array of accounting functions from day-to-day accounting tasks to higher level financial reporting. The Staff Accountant manages most daily accounting activities and works in tandem with the Accounting team members to make sure deadlines are met while maintaining financial accuracy. The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller and assist with financial review and reporting.

Requirements

• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, problem solver with a patient approach to issues
• Proficient in MS Excel as well as familiarity with various accounting systems and software
• Ability to adjust priorities to meet demands in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to learn processes, think critically and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 40 hours per week in-office hours

Nice To Haves

• Work experience with a focus on real estate development, property management and/or construction highly preferred
• Familiarity with AIA billings and lien waivers a plus
• Experience in a multiple entity environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes and general ledger account reviews
• Manage Property Management in Sage300CRE accounting software
• Maintain and update long-term debt schedules as well as monitor monthly loan statements
• Post monthly depreciation and amortization journal entries
• Assist with annual audit prep
• Cut checks as directed by the Controller
• Post various transactions, including but not limited to cash receipts, distributions, EFT payments etc.
• Other duties and reporting as required and as the position develops
