Founded in 1955, Piasecki Aircraft Corporation (PiAC) is a research and development business specializing in design, fabrication and flight testing of experimental rotorcraft and unmanned air vehicles. Piasecki has developed and flown more than 25 different advanced VTOL and UAV aircraft and continues to develop cutting-edge vertical flight technologies. The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Staff Accountant supports the Accounting Department by assisting with various accounting tasks, including data entry, account reconciliations, invoicing, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for an early-career professional seeking to develop their accounting skills in a government contracting environment.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with government contracting accounting software (Deltek, Procas, etc.) is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with government contracting invoicing and GL management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, specifically with GL and invoicing responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Working towards CPA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Support the invoicing process for government contracts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other accounts as directed.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial documents for audits and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain organized records of financial transactions and supporting documentation.
  • Support the Controller in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
