As a Staff Accountant for Zayo Group, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting functions including month-end close, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, variance analysis and assisting on other accounting related tasks. This role blends accounting knowledge with data analysis, providing you with valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS365 products.
  • Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather relevant data, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce and/or OneStream a plus.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end close by completing assigned close tasks, analyzing P&L fluctuations and preparing journal entries.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.
  • Assist with accounting tasks related to current and future Asset Backed Securitization transactions specific to GL balance carve out work and documentation, intercompany reconciliation and billing, journal entry preparation and reporting.
  • Assist with the completion of the monthly variance analysis used to support reporting monthly results to management.
  • Collaborate with numerous teams to investigate and resolve issues timely and ensure financials are accurate.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • A self-motivator with a focus on continuous process improvement and developing efficient ways to support the business.
  • Assist with additional duties or other ad hoc projects as assigned by the team.
