About The Position

Full-time; 80 hrs per pay period; M-F, 8am-4:30pm The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the finance team with the financial activities of the hospital. The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing internal accounting support to the CFO in regard to the overall financials of the facility to accomplish the proper recording, measuring, and reporting of assets and liabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Must have advanced computer skills, in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, keyboard at 50 wpm and 10 key experiences.
  • Must have advanced written and verbal communicate skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Meditech Accounting software is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile and provide analysis of Daily Deposits between subsidiary ledgers of Meditech and NextGen to General Ledger and Bank.
  • Serve as Liaison with Financial Institution in regards to Deposit issues.
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and quarterly.
  • Preparation and Posting of monthly Journal Entries and Journal Entries listing for review by CFO.
  • Analyze Vendor Aging to assist CFO with Cash Flow Projections.
  • Assists CFO with Budget preparation, by running reports, worksheet preparation, provide data entry, and analysis of General Ledger accounts.
  • Serve as Liaison in conjunction with CFO to Auditors and Cost Report Preparers.
  • Responsible for assisting CFO with preparation of necessary Audit and Cost report worksheets
  • Compile and Analyze Census reports for ECF, Acute Care and Swing Beds monthly ensuring accuracy of statistics for Cost Report prep.
  • Monthly Compile and Analyze Observation hours and compare to actual charges ensuring accuracy of statistics for Cost Report prep and necessary Journal Entry.
  • Compile and complete CAH patient hours spreadsheet--Monthly
  • Compile and record time study of ER physician hours measuring time spent with patients, bi-annually.
  • Responsible to complete Unclaimed Monies Reporting requirements with State Of Idaho.
  • Responsible for State Sales Tax Calculation and Reporting requirements with State of Idaho.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all Department Managers and Administration.
  • Ability to maintain the strictest rules in regards to confidentiality.
  • Addresses patients, visitors and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain Infection control standards set by the Hospital.
  • Must submit to COVID testing as required by CMS.
