About The Position

We are seeking a well-rounded, detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a background in banking, multistate tax filings, and payroll processing experience to join our team. This candidate will manage day-to-day accounting functions, handle bi-weekly payroll processing, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. The ideal candidate should be able to take initiative and make informed decisions, have a solid understanding of GAAP, experience with payroll systems, and able to manage priorities independently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience, including payroll responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and payroll regulations.
  • Experience with EPR and Payroll systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, etc.) and other Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Experience with multi-state payroll and payroll related tax filings.

  • Prior work in a manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Daily monitoring of banking transactions with monthly reconciliation, weekly processing of ACH/Wire payments to domestic & international vendors, and monthly/quarterly commission payouts.
  • Monthly/quarterly tax filings/payments to multistate and international entities.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for management and auditors.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support AP & AR functions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulations.
  • Process multi-state bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using Paylocity.
  • Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, PTO, benefits deductions, and wage adjustments.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll journal entries for posting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations (tax filings, wage garnishments, etc.).
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Utilize ERP for accounting workflows, journal entries, and reporting.
  • Generate and analyze financial and payroll reports to support management decisions.
  • Assist with system updates, integrations, and process improvements.
