The company has 2 core businesses, The Machine Clothing [http://www.albint.com/en-us/businesses/machineclothing/Pages/default.aspx] (MC) segment -is the world’s leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and belts essential to production in the paper, nonwovens, and other process industries and Engineered Composites  [http://www.albint.com/businesses/aec/Pages/default.aspx](EC) is a rapidly growing supplier of highly engineered composite parts for the aerospace industry.   The Senior Staff Accountant position supports procedures and objectives in international financial accounting where goals are to provide timely and accurate financial information to internal and external users, while maintaining internal controls over financial processes. Works with other departments, including FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and HR to gather information necessary for accurate accounting. The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the US Accounting Manager.

  • High proficiency with Microsoft applications is required
  • Experience using an ERP system, SAP experience is a plus

  • Ability to meet firm deadlines
  • Bachelor's preferred in accounting combined with 3-5 years of general accounting or corporate accounting experience within a public company or a large multi-national company.
  • MS Office suite: Outlook, Excel, Word

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of specific areas within the balance sheet, such as accrued liabilities
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare are record journal entries including allocations calculation and some cross company entries
  • Participate heavily in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes according to GAAP
  • Manage the accounting around payroll, royalties, professional fees, and workers compensation
  • Deliver and meet deadlines according to internal, external, and government reporting requests
  • Support the Accounting manager in internal and external audit review
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with documented accounting policies and Sarbanes-Oxley controls
  • Participate in special projects as requested
