About The Position

The Staff Accountant – Fixed Assets position is responsible for assisting with accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions related to fixed assets as well as helping with the capital expenditure request process and budget development for all business units.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
• Positive, solutions-oriented attitude with a drive for excellence
• Ability to set, measure and consistently achieve goals within established timelines
• Ability to communicate clearly both in written and verbal interactions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with advanced formulas and pivot tables in Excel

• 2+ years in accounting / finance

Responsibilities

• Assist with various month-end activities related to fixed assets and construction accounting, including the closing of sub-ledgers, preparation of various journal entries and review of general ledger account balances.
• Support the development and approval process of the annual capital budgets and forecasts for both operational and strategic projects for all business units.
• Participate in the accounting for projects under construction, including billing developers, preparing reporting for senior management and ensuring the proper capitalization of the assets in the Fixed Asset System.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to fixed assets and construction activities.
• Prepare periodic data and reporting as requested by internal and external users.
