What we are looking for: A driven and mission-focused Staff Accountant to support the Accounting & Audit team's mission of ensuring accurate and transparent financial reporting in compliance with authoritative accounting standards.

Requirements

  • Maintain an active relationship with Jesus Christ and support the ministry through prayer and actions
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of accounting software preferably Sage Intacct
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting and GAAP
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills; approachable with strong collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting tasks and assisting with the monthly close process, including maintaining and reconciling key balance sheet and income statement accounts in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Monitor and record/import revenue activity, inventory activity, payroll entries, fixed asset additions, and intercompany transactions and allocations to ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards
  • Monitor, track, and reconcile prepaid expenses and vendor and airfare advances; review invoice coding for transactions that require special accounting treatment; and record expenses in accordance with US GAAP
  • Support finance team on annual fixed asset inventory, annual physical warehouse inventory, system/process automation and enhancement, accounting standard research, and other special projects or journal entries as requested
  • Set up items in accounting software and prepare in-kind donation request forms
  • Maintain audit schedules on a monthly and quarterly basis and provide support during the audit
