About The Position

Process or review the day-to-day accounting activities including, review of AP and AR, prepare and review monthly recurring and general accounting journal entries, maintain balance sheet accounts, and perform monthly account reconciliations including research and reconciliation of discrepancies when needed. Direct Responsibilities • Develop and oversee procedures that ensure financial transactions are timely, accurate and complete. • Review AP and approve for completeness and accuracy. • Review AR for completeness and accuracy. • Review, monitor, and post daily development and health center deposits. • Prepare and review monthly and general accounting journal entries in accordance with GAAP. • Prepare and reconcile identified BS and IS accounts. • Prepare monthly restricted net asset release entry. • Provide monthly grant reporting to Medical Operations and Development. • Prepare weekly medical operations report. • Research and resolve account balance discrepancies. • Provide guidance and assistance to other members of the Finance team, as needed. • Serves as back up for AP and AR. • Accounts for leases according to GAAP. • Assists in year-end external audit schedules and prepares supporting schedules as assigned by the Controller/Director of Finance. • Provides guidance and assistance to other members of the Finance team, as needed • Identifies improvements to current processes and make recommendations. Implement and review new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). • Completes other special projects and department deliverables as assigned by members of the senior leadership team. Works with all departments in a positive, supportive, and collaborative team manner. • Actively participates in the Accreditation process to ensure compliance with Elements of Performance (EOP), medical standards and guidelines (MS&G) and all other state and federal regulations. • Participates in supporting grants and donations to fund services and projects at the affiliate, through work like, but not limited to program narratives, budgets, data queries, analysis, and participation in interviews with grantees and meetings with donors. • Actively participates in training, orientating and cross training co-workers, managers and staff on processes and procedures in compliance with PPAZ standards and guidelines. • Performs other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. • Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience overseeing account reconciliations and analysis • Attention to detail is essential. • Demonstrate ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Ability to work independently and in team-oriented settings. • The ability to work with confidential information is required. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software is required; experience with MIP is preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Capacity to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and vendors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and time is a factor. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience overseeing account reconciliations and analysis
  • Attention to detail is essential.
