About The Position

The Staff Accountant at PPR Capital Management supports the organization’s financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting tasks that support the integrity of the general ledger, the preparation of financial statements, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and motivated to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar systems); experience with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) is required.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience includes real estate accounting, applying fair value principles under GAAP, and managing accounting tasks across multiple entities or joint ventures.
  • CPA or CPA track preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and maintain amortization and prepaid expense schedules, ensuring appropriate allocation and timing of expenses.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset records, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
  • Prepare internal and external financial reports, including variance analysis and other ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Support external audits by preparing audit schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of supporting documentation for tax filings and support compliance with federal, state, and local tax
  • Monitor and adhere to internal controls and accounting policies in accordance with GAAP and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and finance, to support business initiatives and improve accounting processes.
