About The Position

Sunlight Batteries USA is seeking a Staff Accountant to support their manufacturing operation in Greensboro, NC. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the accounting close process, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while partnering with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience; manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and strong Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

  • Experience supporting an accounting close cycle.
  • Exposure to audit support or SOX-related controls.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested materials.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Track and analyze inventory transactions, adjustments, and variances.
  • Reconcile raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to understand manufacturing cost drivers.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, gross margin trends, and operational KPIs.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure planning efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to financial processes and systems.
  • Support internal control requirements and corporate governance standards.
  • Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and audit standards.
