About The Position

We are a private equity–backed construction services company operating across HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and General Contracting, seeking a seasoned Staff Accountant to support our growing finance team. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working under strict monthly deadlines.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, trades, or service-based businesses
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop (required)
  • Solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals
  • Experience with payroll, AP, AR, and general ledger accounting
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a structured environment
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)

Nice To Haves

  • Construction or job-costing experience
  • Exposure to private equity–owned companies or multi-entity environments
  • Prior involvement in audits or lender reporting

Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Payroll processing and related reconciliations
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested
  • Support audits and comply with internal controls and PE reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with operations and management to resolve discrepancies
