Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, real estate, or similar multi-entity environments
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations
  • Familiarity with intercompany accounting including cross-entity transactions and eliminations in a multi-entity environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ProfitSword, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines across a portfolio of entities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation or active pursuit of licensure

Responsibilities

  • Own the month-end close process for an assigned multi-entity portfolio of properties, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting in accordance close calendar, GAAP, and USALI guidelines
  • Prepare and review journal entries and supporting analyses, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper accounting treatment
  • Maintain prepaid expense schedules and ensure proper monthly amortization; prepare and post accruals
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet and bank reconciliations, as well as other key account reconciliations; proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger through adherence to established close procedures and internal control standards; identify and implement process improvements where appropriate
  • Prepare and distribute monthly owner reports in accordance with ownership requirements
  • Ensure financial results are clearly communicated and aligned with reporting standards across multiple ownership structures
  • Partner with General Managers and Operations teams to support monthly financial reviews
  • Review month-over-month and forecast-to-actual variances to ensure completeness and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for financial inquiries from stakeholders
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts for assigned properties
  • Monitor cash balances and flag any unusual activity to Regional Controller
  • Investigate and resolve account variances with a focus on root cause analysis
  • Support internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulations
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance efficiency
