The Staff Accountant supports general accounting, monthly reconciliations, account analysis, reporting, controls and compliance, and process improvements for Leica Biosystems (LBS) in the Americas. This role assists with operating company ledger accounting and compliance and needs to stay current on changes in accounting standards. This position reports to the Director of Accounting Shared Services and is part of the finance team located in Deer Park, IL and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Manage the general ledger, including accrued expenses, prepaid assets, and all recurring and adjusting accounting entries. Drive key activities in the month‑end close process to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines, including month end account reconciliations. Deliver data, analysis, and insights to management, and contribute to special projects and ad‑hoc reporting. Support SOX compliance activities and coordinate responses for internal and external audit requests. Collaborate with the Manager to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
