Summary Under the direction of the Divisional Controller, the Staff Accountant will play an integral role in maintaining and supporting the corporate accounting function. For this role, we are looking for a proactive self-starter who enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Communication skills, attention to detail, and an objective approach to learning and problem-solving is a must as well as advanced proficiency in Excel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Two to five years’ previous experience, preferred.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge (pivots, macros, vba experience).
  • Detail orientated.
  • Analytical.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform efficient and accurate data entry.
  • Reconcile accrual accounts, inventory accounts and other general ledger accounts.
  • Account for fixed assets, prepaids and accruals.
  • Complete month-end close activities, prepare general ledger entries, complete GL account reconciliations and run and distribute monthly reports.
  • Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information.
  • Assist in creating new or reengineering existing processes.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements.
  • W-9 and 1099 maintenance and processing.
  • Respond to Divisional Controller & Chief Financial Officer as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs.
  • Be an active employee in finding continuous improvements, cost reductions or eliminating non-value-added tasks to streamline processes.
  • Participate in a variety of special projects as assigned by the Divisional Controller and/or CFO.
  • Cross train on all functions within accounting to assist/support other staff.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relations with customers, coworkers and supervisors.
