Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Staff Accountant will provide essential financial support and transactional services within the flavor and fragrance industry. This role will collaborate closely with accounting personnel, internal departments, and external parties to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance. The Staff Accountant will be involved in various aspects of accounting, from accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) to bank reconciliations and month-end closing activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing industry, contributing to the financial success of the company while gaining exposure to the unique financial challenges of the flavor and fragrance industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or B2B environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting or ERP applications.
  • Must be able to sit/stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent Ability to manage communication using both written and verbal communication with diverse work groups, including customers and internal Berje employees.
  • Positive and professional manner, lead team to focus on detail, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Needs to be proficient in windows operating system.
  • Demonstrates positive people skills with clear communication both in verbal and written form.
  • Passionate and results oriented with a focus on team development and Best Practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), flavor, fragrance, or similar industries a plus.
  • NetSuite and PowerBI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • AP and AR transactions and reconciliation support
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Fixed Assets Management
  • Booking Journal Entries
  • Collate, copies and fillings
  • Assist with month-end closing
  • GL reconciliations
  • Analyze and book credit card expenditures
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Assist with gathering and analyzing data from other departments
  • Provide administrative support to Sr Finance Manager
  • Assist resolution of Vendor or Customer inquiries
