About The Position

Our Operations Finance / Reporting team is seeking an experienced, driven, and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accurate and timely financial reporting for Toyota Material Handling North America. This role is a key contributor to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and works cross-functionally to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement. In this position, you will partner with multiple departments to research, analyze, and report financial activity, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, support consolidated reporting, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3 + years of experience as an Accounting or Finance professional
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy with strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with reporting automation or business intelligence tools specifically Power BI.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and their application to accounting transactions
  • Experience preparing consolidated financial reporting packages
  • SAP experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFA
  • Process-oriented mindset with experience defining and implementing improved workflows

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries for accruals, deferrals, reserves, eliminations, and other accounting transactions
  • Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation
  • Analyze and report on accruals and reserves, including inventory, slow-moving inventory, PTO, bonuses, and other key financial metrics
  • Prepare and compile internal financial reports, schedules, and variance analyses for management, including month-to-date, quarter-to-date, and year-to-date results
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial reporting packages for the parent company, including balance sheet, income statement, intercompany reporting, and supporting schedules
  • Conduct cash flow analysis and assist with cash flow forecasting to provide insight into the organization’s financial position
  • Research and resolve accounting issues to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards
  • Support external audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement process improvements and reporting efficiencies
  • Participate in financial modeling and analysis related to new strategic initiatives, including reporting automation (e.g., Power BI)
  • Lead or contribute to business process improvement initiatives aligned with continuous improvement principles
  • Perform special projects and other accounting duties as assigned
