About The Position

The Staff Accountant/Assistant to Behavioral Health Supervising Accountant is responsible for a multitude of accounting department tasks including but not limited to accounts payable processing/coding, billing report analysis, filing, accounts receivable coding, and providing billing information for budgeting and reporting purposes.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or High School Diploma with 3 years of medical billing experience
  • Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Obtain an insured vehicle
  • At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and code Behavioral Health medical billing transactions in MyEvolv system and accumulate data for recording in the general ledger system and the RevConnect Clearinghouse.
  • Accounts receivable coding for BH receipts from insurance companies, MCOs, individuals, and State and other sources and filing of receivable documents.
  • Behavioral Health accounts payable processing and coding including filing of related documents.
  • Assist department personnel with processing and coding of weekly bank deposits.
  • Track and analyze accounts as assigned.
  • Prepare invoices and journal entries as necessary.
  • Work with program staff resolving billing issues and ensuring accurate client credentials for medical billings.
