Who we are looking for: The Staff Accountant will support daily accounting operations and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting within a dynamic gene‑therapy setting. This position includes significant involvement in accounts payable processing, month‑end close activities, general ledger maintenance, audit support, and cross‑functional coordination with operations, supply chain, and other internal teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting (internships/co‑ops welcomed for junior roles). [
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced biotech environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in biotech, pharma, cell/gene therapy, or other regulated industries.
  • CPA or CMA certification or progress toward one.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts including accruals, cash, investments, prepaids, fixed assets, debt, and other asset and liability accounts as requested.
  • Assist in reviewing financial statements for accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Assist the accounts payable and procurement team with invoice and PO processing, on an as needed basis.
  • Code invoices in accordance with company procedures to ensure accurate financial system entry.
  • Assist in the administration of the accounts payable process, including resolving discrepancies, on an as needed basis.
  • Assist with preparing documentation for external auditors.
  • Assist in maintaining financial process documentation and help implement process improvements.
