Our Staff Accountant is responsible for providing support to the Accounting Department by performing a variety of specialized accounting duties. Duties include processing, recording. updating, analyzing, and reporting financial data/information in compliance with established policies and procedures. Assists residents with account questions and concerns. Always model our core values of respect, passion, and professionalism, and holds others accountable for doing the same.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google software applications.
  • Demonstrated advanced Excel knowledge and skill to create spreadsheets and management reports by effectively manipulating data and presenting it in an understandable and useful format.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications.
  • Flu Vaccinated.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and balance assigned general ledger accounts by performing monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Prepare general ledger entries to ensure accurate reporting of financial information.
  • Analyze data and other information by developing complex spreadsheets.
  • Audit spreadsheets to ensure information is accurately presented and consistent.
  • Compile a wide variety of accounting work assignments (account reconciliations, capital expenditure reporting, expense variances, etc.).
  • Maintain financial files and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation, compliance with established policies and procedures, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, monthly financials, annual audit, annual cost reports, statistical reporting, and other special projects as directed.
  • Assist in the external audit by providing supporting documentation, schedules and/or information on internal processes as required for the audit.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Communicate concerns or potential compliance issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Complete all compliance and mandatory in-services and training.
  • All other duties as assigned.
