The Staff Accountant II is responsible for advanced general accounting functions related to the monthly accounting cycle, which may include various expense accounts, revenue and accounts receivable, fixed assets, liabilities and accruals or other general accounting topics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional accounting experience required
  • Familiarity with accounting software or sub-ledger
  • Knowledge of accounting/understanding of ledger accounts required
  • Sound technical knowledge of basic accounting principles required
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Business Suite
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to assist others
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, well organized, self-motivated, with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and ability to foster strong inter-departmental working relationships
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in real estate industry a plus
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses for complex transactions, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Ensures all quarterly and year-end processing and reporting deadlines are consistently met, advising management of any roadblocks and supporting the achievement of department objectives.
  • Supports internal stakeholders with financial information requests and assists with annual internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and verification of financial data and disclosures.
  • Provides guidance and support to Staff Accountants, assisting with monthly processes and special projects as needed.
