Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. Incumbent is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the NDOT's Stormwater Management Program in compliance with the NDOT's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems Permit. Incumbent is also responsible for procuring State and Federal water quality permits in support of the NDOT's construction and maintenance operations. Incumbent will act as liaison with other NDOT Divisions (e.g., Maintenance and Asset Management, Construction, Hydraulics and Design) to monitor statewide compliance; prepare correspondence in a timely manner; prepare field reports; update databases with appropriate documentation; assist in project related meetings and perform field reviews for compliance; contribute to water quality document review, preparation, and completion; develop and implement water quality program components.
