About The Position

At ConocoPhillips, the Stabilizer Multi‑Skill Operator (MSO) serves as a key operator supporting safe, reliable, and cost‑focused production through the operation of stabilizer facilities. This field role centers on monitoring process conditions, maintaining equipment performance, and taking timely action to keep operations stable while controlling costs and meeting production objectives. Working at a designated stabilizer facility, the MSO – Stabilizer applies strong mechanical knowledge and process awareness to identify issues, respond to upsets, and optimize facility performance. This role carries responsibility for operational judgment, adherence to operating standards, and consistent execution of safety and environmental requirements. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Current/valid driver’s license
  • One or more years’ experience requiring mechanical skills, including equipment inspection, operation, maintenance, or repair
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate to an area that will allow for a daily commute to the China Draw Central Facility
  • Willing and able to work 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule of 7 day shifts, 7 days off, and 7 night shifts (7/7)
  • Willing and able to respond to operational alarms, including after‑hours response and on-call coverage, to resolve issues and minimize downtime
  • Willing and able to work unscheduled overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of oil and gas production, facilities, or HSE experience
  • Associate degree, trade certification, or higher in production technology or a related field
  • Proficiency with computers, data entry, and field‑based digital systems
  • Demonstrated ownership of work, accountability for safety and compliance, and sound decision‑making in the field

Responsibilities

  • Access remote well sites to monitor wells and equipment, maintain normal operating levels, pressures, and flow rates on separation equipment, and adjust automatic and manual controls to support optimal production
  • Inspect oil and gas wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and associated piping systems to identify leaks, abnormal conditions, or equipment issues, and take corrective action as needed
  • Gauge tanks to measure crude oil and water volumes for sales, transfers, and production accounting
  • Operate and troubleshoot compressors, rental compression units, gas lift systems, flowing gas wells, sand traps, and flowback equipment
  • Start up, shut in, and test wells in accordance with operating procedures and production plans
  • Maintain and verify chemical injection rates to ensure equipment integrity and flow assurance
  • Enter production, operational, and measurement data into computerized systems and review outputs for accuracy and completeness
  • Conduct new facility walk‑throughs and support execution of Management of Change (MOC) activities and Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs)
  • Complete regulatory and compliance activities, including agency testing requirements, change‑of‑status documentation, and tank and meter numbering for new wells and facilities
  • Update and maintain piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and site security diagrams for new and modified facilities
  • Respond to operational alarms, including after-hours response and on-call coverage, to resolve issues and minimize downtime
  • Implement and follow all safety, environmental, and operational requirements outlined in the ConocoPhillips Management System
