About The Position

ConocoPhillips and its heritage companies have operated in the Permian Basin for almost 100 years. The transformational acquisitions of Concho Resources Inc. and Shell Enterprises LLC’s prolific positions in the Delaware and Midland Basins in 2021 further strengthened the company’s position in the Permian Basin. At year-end 2024, the company held over 1 million total net acres in the Permian Basin. During 2024, net production averaged 775 MBOED. At ConocoPhillips, our Lease Operators—known internally as Multi-Skill Operators (MSOs)—play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable oil and gas production across our assets. This field-based position offers the opportunity to work independently in dynamic outdoor environments, using your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to make a real impact. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. Oil and gas experience is a plus but not required—strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are equally valued. Whether you're transitioning from another industry or building on prior field experience, we provide the training and support to help you succeed and grow your career. As a frontline contributor to our operational excellence and safety culture, you’ll be empowered to make decisions, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure production targets are met—all while driving innovation and continuous improvement in the field.
