SRM Threading Operator

About The Position

The SRM Threading Operator shall operate and assist in the functions of threading for the continuous operation of the threading machine in accordance with mill policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift. Working Conditions: Working conditions are the same as the conditions provided in the pipe manufacturing industry. Working environment temperature is in parallel with weather conditions. It requires working in dusty, noisy, and greasy environments. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds, and standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools, and hand-held measurement devices.
  • Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Threading manufacturing processes and procedures for at least one year is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for threading machine set-up during size changeovers.
  • Ensure the threading conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
  • Communicating the product’s details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of operator.
  • Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
  • This position serves as a back-up for the Hydrotester,Pre-Visual Check Operator when necessary.
  • Maintain a good machine condition by observing machine operations, detecting machinery malfunctions, and making required corrections.
  • Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer when necessary.
  • Communicate and work together with the workstation operators
  • Reject non-conforming products and readjust equipment to correct problems.
  • Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
  • Employee must follow the 5S implementation procedure.
  • Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.
