About The Position

ADT is at the forefront of developing innovative smart home and business security solutions. We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications with a journalist's mindset to help tell our company story across platforms. Candidates should be adept at developing story angles, conducting interviews and research, and producing written content for internal and external audiences. Candidate should be comfortable with short- and long-form writing, as well as editing others' work for content, style, and grammar.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a journalism or corporate communications role, preferably at aâ consumer or technology brand.
  • Resourceful reporting experience using interviews, datasets, and background material to create compelling copy.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Ability to self-generate story ideas from meetings, conversations, company communications, etc., and craft story angles that resonate with various audiences.
  • Experience writing for digital platforms and/or employee audiences.
  • Strategic and creative mindset, with a commitment to innovation and customer-focused solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic video production skills (scripting, storyboarding, editing) a plus.
  • Basic digital publishing skills (WordPress, etc.) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Translate key initiatives, product launches, community investments, and company priorities into engaging and informative stories for the internal employee audience and for the external media and customer audience.
  • Collaborate with communications partners across the business to execute story assignments of various lengths and complexity.
  • Research and conduct interviews across the company to surface stories about our products, innovation, employees, community impact and thought leadership.
  • Maintain a content calendar of stories and work independently to keep stories on track and keep stakeholders informed of content and timing.
  • Edit team members' writing for style, grammar and consistent messaging.
  • Liaise with team members to help conceptualize content, translate briefs into story ideas, and round out our storytelling to connect with our full range of audiences.
