Technical Program Managers (TPMs) at Amazon are responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of technical programs. At Level 6 (TPM III), you will be expected to manage technical initiatives, potentially spanning across multiple teams or organizations, in support of larger business objectives. Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Lead End-to-End Program Planning: Partner with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive roadmaps and execution plans for complex technical initiatives
  • Drive Technical Innovation: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, working closely with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation
  • Manage Risk Proactively: Identify potential roadblocks before they become issues and develop mitigation strategies that keep programs on track
  • Champion Communication: Create compelling status reports that tell the story of your projects and ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned
  • Build Consensus Across Teams: When different views emerge on how to proceed, you'll find the best path forward and influence others to follow
