Visit us online at: https://www.nwths.com/careers Position: Senior Tech - Ultrasound The General and Vascular Imaging Ultrasound technologist is responsible for the day-to-day operations (patient flow) and efficiency of the ultrasound department. The technologist must have knowledge of all areas within the Ultrasound Department. Must utilize the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members. The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound examinations according to the currently accepted practices of the ARDMS and Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The technologist will prepare technical reports, exam rooms, equipment and supplies for procedures.

Requirements

  • Current CPR certification required from AHA
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, (ARDMS) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of Technical procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist and Staff Physicians with test.
  • Demonstrates ultrasound echo/vascular skills needed for all positions.
  • Demonstrates good patient care.
  • Utilizes the appropriate leadership skill in supervising students and providing feedback concerning student performance.
  • Demonstrates good communication and problem solving skills.
  • Is a professional role model for personnel.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and employees.
  • The ultrasound technologist will assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precaution.
  • The ultrasound technologist will comply with appropriate and approved standards relating to: patients, infection control, and environmental issues.
