About the Team The role will join the Systems Engineering & Solution Sales team at Nutanix, a dynamic group composed of over 800 customer-focused technical sales professionals. Based primarily in Chicago, this team fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation, working tirelessly to connect technology opportunities with the distinct business needs and objectives of our customers. The mission of the Systems Engineering team is to serve as experts in their field, providing consultative support, technical expertise, and strategic solutions that transform how companies operate through the adoption of Nutanix's enterprise cloud technology. You will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering, who is known for fostering an open and supportive leadership style that encourages teamwork and professional growth. The role is primarily remote, providing flexibility for work-from-home arrangements, but may require occasional in-office visits for team meetings or collaboration, with no specific day requirement set. This position requires around 30% travel to engage with customers and stakeholders, ensuring that the Systems Engineering team builds and maintains strong relationships while addressing the technical needs of clients effectively. The travel may include visits to customer sites for presentations, demos, and support throughout the sales process.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, with 3+ years as a Presales Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on technical aptitude with the ability to adapt to market demands.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Experience with data center and cloud technologies, particularly in storage, virtualization, and automation frameworks.
  • Highest level of personal and professional ethics, integrity, and a desire to learn and excel.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and articulate the benefits of Nutanix solutions through presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop account plans and propose tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Manage complex accounts, navigating long-term relationships and acting as a trusted advisor for customers.
  • Collect and communicate customer feedback to the Nutanix ecosystem to improve offerings and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical expertise during customer evaluations and proof of concepts (POCs) to drive deal success.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Nutanix products and the relevant technology stack.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve customer concerns and escalate product issues as needed.
  • Achieve first-year objectives by securing key accounts and achieving assigned sales targets through effective technical sales support.
