About the Team The Systems Engineering & Solution Sales team at Nutanix is a dynamic and customer-focused group that plays a critical role in driving the company's mission to transform the way organizations work through innovative cloud technology solutions. Comprised of over 800 technical sales professionals, this team is dedicated to identifying and addressing technology opportunities that align with customer business challenges and objectives. Located primarily in Indianapolis, the team fosters a collaborative culture where team members work together to enable clients to navigate their transformational journeys, providing expert guidance and support while building long-term relationships. You will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering, who leads with an emphasis on collaboration, mentorship, and empowerment, ensuring that each team member has the tools and support they need to succeed. The work setup for this role is primarily remote, with flexibility allowing for home-office balance, and team members are encouraged to meet in the office as needed for team collaboration and planning sessions. This role requires some travel, approximately 30%, to meet with customers, conduct presentations, and participate in events, ensuring strong engagement and presence in the field. The ability to travel effectively to address customer needs and foster relationships is essential for this position.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, with 3+ years as a Presales Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on technical aptitude with adaptability to market demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Strong analytical skills for solving complex problems with clear solution strategies.
  • Experience in data center and cloud technologies (storage, virtualization, automation frameworks).
  • Ability to mentor new hires and provide support to peers.
  • Highest level of ethics and integrity with a desire to learn and excel continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and articulate the features and benefits of Nutanix solutions to customers.
  • Size, configure, and recommend Nutanix solutions based on customer needs and technical requirements.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with sales counterparts to develop account plans and create proposals for potential clients.
  • Lead technical evaluations and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements for prospective customers.
  • Manage complex accounts and larger sales transactions, ensuring customer satisfaction and engagement.
  • Provide mentorship and support to new hires and peers within the presales team.
  • Collect and communicate customer feedback to enhance Nutanix's ecosystem and product offerings.
