  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, or a related discipline
  • 5 + years of systems engineering experience focused on RAM, system safety, environmental safety, or Integrated Logistics Support for defense training simulators or comparable high‑complexity systems.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams, produce strategic technical reports, and brief leadership on technical matters
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret (or higher) clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced RCM/RCFA, FMEDA, FMEA, HAZOP, and hazard‑analysis techniques
  • Full‑spectrum ILS expertise (Supply Support, Configuration Management, Technical Data, Logistics)
  • Statistical/economic analysis tools (MATLAB, Python, Minitab)
  • In‑depth familiarity with MIL‑STD‑1388, MIL‑HDBK‑881/502, GEIA‑STD‑0007, TA‑STD‑0017, MIL‑HDBK‑217, MIL‑STD‑882E, and applicable environmental regulations.
  • MBSE proficiency (SysML, Cameo Systems Modeler, or equivalent)
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
  • Experience with condition‑based maintenance (CBM) and predictive analytics for safety‑critical systems
  • Prior exposure on aviation systems, aviation simulators or advanced test equipment programs
  • Masters Degree in related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical planning workshops; assess new simulator concepts for RAM, system safety, and environmental safety risks.
  • Establish risk mitigation strategies that are incorporated into program baselines and schedules.
  • Design and champion integrated RAMS and System Safety solutions that meet DoD performance and safety targets.
  • Translate FMECA, RCM, FMEA, and hazard analysis results into system wide maintenance tasks, safety controls, and design changes.
  • Direct hazard identification (HAZOP, FTA) and environmental impact assessments throughout the product lifecycle (concept, design, fabrication, test, operation, sustainment, disposal).
  • Ensure compliance with MIL STD 882E, DoD 5000.02, and applicable environmental regulations (e.g., RoHS, REACH).
  • Supply Support & Obsolescence: Define Level of Repair (LOR) strategies, manage part obsolescence programs, and develop supply chain risk mitigation plans.
  • Configuration Management: Oversee baselines, change control, and technical data packages to ensure traceability of RAM/Safety requirements.
  • Logistics & Sustainment: Lead cost benefit and trade studies supporting logistics, maintenance planning, and sustainment budget forecasts.
  • Lead root cause investigations across mechanical, electrical, software, and test domains; determine severity, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Facilitate collaboration among engineering, logistics, quality, and procurement teams to close performance gaps.
  • Analyze DoD contract and acquisition requirements; convert them into integrated system solutions balancing technical, schedule, cost, and safety constraints.
  • Enforce application of MIL STD 1388, MIL HDBK 881/502, GEIA STD 0007, TA STD 0017, MIL HDBK 217, MIL STD 882E, and relevant environmental standards.
