As a Senior Supplier Relationship Manager supporting Contract Manufacturing, you will:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in sourcing, supply chain, operations, or supplier management, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing, supply chain, operations, or supplier management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical devices or other regulated, technical industries
  • Experience supporting contract manufacturing, outsourcing, and the electronics market & industry
  • Category management/supplier management experience with sourcing practices, risk management processes, and category strategy concepts
  • Negotiation training/certification
  • Experience with supplier analytics, ERP systems, and contract management tools
  • Strong communication, change leadership, and cross‑functional problem‑solving skills, leading to the ability to influence at senior leadership and supplier C-suite
  • Strong desire to constantly learn about the market, category, and economic/technological developments
  • Intermediate level of economics knowledge and expertise
  • Experience in forming and maintaining strategic alliances.
  • Experience in cross-functional commodity teams.
  • CPIM, CPSM Certification

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain executive-level relationships with key suppliers to foster innovation, ensure supply resilience, and enhance long-term enterprise value.
  • Establish collaborative partnerships to identify and achieve measurable improvements in quality, delivery, cost efficiency, risk management, and responsible sourcing.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact for designated suppliers, overseeing governance routines, communication protocols, and escalation processes.
  • Design and implement strategic relationship plans and conduct supplier executive business reviews in alignment with Medtronic’s long-term objectives.
  • Drive value-creation initiatives throughout the multi-year productivity pipeline, ensuring alignment with both enterprise and Operating Unit priorities.
  • Lead joint improvement projects, promoting best-practice sharing, uncovering innovation opportunities, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance, risk trends, and value-creation outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Ensure suppliers fulfill contractual commitments, governance standards, and business requirements.
  • Support negotiation efforts and manage multi-year contracts.
  • Collaborate with Category Management to execute category strategies, including assessments, due diligence, remediation, ongoing monitoring, and off-boarding activities.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Supply Management and various cross-functional stakeholders within Operating Units, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal to promote consistent, risk-based supplier management practices.
  • Lead cross-functional issue resolution, strategic initiatives, and improvement efforts driven by either suppliers or Medtronic.
  • Effective deployment of supplier relationships and performance management frameworks.
  • Year‑over‑year improvement in supplier relationships, performance, and risk indicators.
  • Delivery of value (efficiency, innovation, total cost, and growth/spend consolidation).
  • Compliance with responsible sourcing and risk requirements.
  • Effective stewardship of strategic suppliers across significant spend.
