The Senior Store Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the fluctuating needs of the Store Development & Store Operations Team, including, but not limited to project and program management for Store Development projects, with oversight of remodels and special projects, as well as enterprise cross-functional operational project support & strategic initiative-based support. This position requires a strong eye for detail, exceptional verbal and written communication, and the ability to balance changing priorities. The Senior Store Development Specialist ensures retail processes, communication, and documentation of all assigned projects follows a consistent structure, provides clear direction, to create an exceptional associate experience and a platform for flawless store execution. The ideal candidate is proficient and passionate about project management, process improvement, and has a keen eye for details & experience in project coordination. The Senior Store Development Specialist is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 3-5 years project management experience, preferably in Store Set.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel is required
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and a fine eye for detail
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and drive to manage a heavy workload continuously and proactively
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects with moving parts
  • Strong computer skills
  • Work a flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Normal office demands

Nice To Haves

  • Working with 3rd party vendor experience is a plus
  • Prior retail experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Delivers consistently against project timelines while informing leadership and communicating any risks or necessary changes.
  • Makes recommendations for process improvements to Store Development and cross-functional processes.
  • Balances a heavy workload and seamlessly shifts focuses to deliver on changing business needs.
  • Manages multiple competing partner relationships, management of many detailed spreadsheets & assignments.
  • Proactively recognizes potential roadblocks and areas of opportunity within projects and processes on an enterprise level, and provides recommendations for solutions from an operations perspective.
  • Produces publication-quality first drafts of new and existing store operational project documents and communication.
  • Ability to problem solve swiftly.
  • Resilient to change & competing priorities and assists others with adapting.
  • Collaborates with leadership within Store Ops and cross-functionally to understand business and end-user needs.
  • Develops strong partnerships with cross-functional subject matter experts to gather, understand, and verify the situation and/or content while providing operational support, guidance, and recommendations.
  • Acts as a key consultant and subject matter expert to cross-functional partners, providing operational perspective.
  • Acts as the subject matter experts for all store development project problems that arise from the field or from our external partners.
  • Provides support and leadership to the Store Set Managers and Specialists within the extended team by creating strong partnership and driving cross-collaboration and training.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans to timely deliver upon well thought out strategies for projects and programs (I.e., Remodels, Special Projects, etc.).
  • Works to understand unfamiliar or complex information or ideas and converts into simple language, adjusting style to meet end-user needs.
  • Ensures meetings are productive by proactively soliciting cross-functional content, organizing agendas, and supporting materials, communicating concise notes, and following up on action items.
  • Participates in cross-functional meetings, representing the store operations perspective, making recommendations, and reviewing takeaways with operational leadership following the meeting.
  • Manage, support, and lead the communication needs of the enterprise through the operational review and approval of all remodel and special projects field-facing communications.
  • Execute other operational tasks as directed.
