Position Title: Senior Specialist, Product Development Position Reports to: Director, Product Development Direct Reports: None Travel: <10% Location: New York Corporate Office What We Do – Accountabilities · Assures that the factories and sourcing teams have complete, accurate, and timely information about the product, in order to execute proper prototypes, samples and production shoes. · Assures quality through spec sheet review, coordination of prototypes, and fit & finish trials. · Assures ongoing and effective communication with suppliers, factories, and other company divisions. Essential Functions · Maintains appropriate systems with additions of new items, detailing of new colors and styles, and changes/modifications to product. · Research, develops and details materials and/or colors for new product development. · Details product lines. · Assist in giving work direction and guidance to Design and Product Development team members. · Communicate with the Far East and Spain on an on-going basis to advising of product changes, additional needs, and new development and production issues. · Communicate with the brand leadership, design team, and sales to provide feedback, finishing problems, and quality issues. · Assist in the maintenance of appropriate systems with additions of new items, detailing of new colors and styles, and changes/modifications to product. · Review and correct spec sheet details as necessary. · Assure updates material chart, prototype and sample tracking reports. · Assists in communication of material changes and other amendments to products before final trials. · Assists in adjusting our supplies as needed (i.e. Buckles, laces, webbing, etc…) · Ordering all sampling including PR request · Follow PDT milestone for PD and Design · Pack and unpacking samples · Tracking, Shipping (create commercial invoices) and receiving samples Preferred Qualifications & Education · Bachelor of Arts (BA) Fashion Design or Product Development · Design or Product Development Experience 3-5 years preferred · Knowledge of footwear constructions, parts and terminology is required, along with detailing experience · Proven organizational skills · Excellent verbal communication and presentation experience · Ability to prioritize tasks · Strong partnering, problem solving, analytical, and multi-tasking skills · Microsoft Office Products · Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign Preferred · CAD Preferred Knowledge of SAP and PLM software preferred Physical Requirements and/or Environment · Office/ Cube Stuart Weitzman is part of Caleres Inc., a market-leading portfolio of global footwear brands that includes Famous Footwear, Allen Edmonds, Sam Edelman, Suart Weitzman, Naturalizer, Vionic, and more. Requirements

  • Knowledge of footwear constructions, parts and terminology is required, along with detailing experience
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation experience
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong partnering, problem solving, analytical, and multi-tasking skills
  • Microsoft Office Products

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) Fashion Design or Product Development
