The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for operational accounting, managing/reconciling general ledger accounts, researching and resolving variances, preparing journal entries and preparing various spreadsheets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in related position
  • Experience with accounting software and exposure to corporate IT systems and networks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (primarily Excel)
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical Skills - Interprets and digests complex information, applies logic and sound critical thinking to astutely evaluate information, identifies flaws in reasoning but integrates good judgment in presenting findings, creates insightful and comprehensible reports, devises improvements or corrections to processes/procedures/plans based on strong analytical findings.
  • Dependability - Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, meets attendance/punctuality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining/reconciling certain general ledger accounts and researching and resolving variances
  • Prepare adjusting entries, accruals, and closing entries to maintain the accuracy, completeness and integrity of the accounting records and to facilitate an efficient accounting close process
  • Responsible for maintaining certain processes documentation
  • Run close process in NetSuite and post close reports
  • Review POs monthly for accruals and close POs when out of date
  • Assist with intercompany charges billed to other Canon entities
  • Assist with gathering information for annual tax return preparation
  • Prepare various financial reports for management and Canon
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting
  • File Annual Reports
  • Coordinate with Canon auditors as needed
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with Company’s procedures for internal control
  • Represent Finance and Accounting Department in cross functional projects as needed
