About The Position

As the Sr Specialist, Architectural Planning , you’ll play a vital role in shaping how Best Buy’s physical spaces come to life, translating business and merchandising strategy into high‑quality, site‑specific store designs. Day to day, you’ll partner across internal teams and external consultants to deliver coordinated, code‑compliant architectural plans that drive consistency, value, and flexibility across our portfolio. A successful candidate brings an owner’s mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to simplify complexity while managing multiple projects. Requirements

3 years of experience in design, architectural planning, engineering, or a related leadership role.
3 years of experience working cross ‑ functionally to produce and deploy design solutions.
3 years of retail experience supporting store operations and customer experience initiatives.
3 years of experience building, developing, or leading teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience managing architectural consultants and coordinating multi ‑ discipline documentation.
Demonstrated P&L, budget, or capital/expense management experience.
Familiarity with retail prototypes, fixture design, and merchandise planning.
Strong negotiation skills with vendors, trades, or service providers.
Ability to simplify processes and drive execution across multi ‑ site rollouts.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine site ‑ specific architectural plans using Best Buy standards, prototypes, and design guidelines.
Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure drawings are accurate, aligned, and construction ‑ ready.
Drive milestone accountability, communication, and change management across multiple projects and locations.
Identify risks early and create mitigation plans that protect scope, schedule, and budget.
Lead and mentor team members while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
