About The Position

Eaton’s North American Sales Energy Transition division is currently seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join their team. This hybrid role will be based in either our Pleasanton, CA; Roseville, CA; or Littleton, CO location. This exciting opportunity provides responsibility for managing and coordinating sales efforts to grow the Energy Transition space and sell assigned product lines. It also involves preparing bids and quotations, responding to RFI/RFP/RFQ requests, and providing sales and technical assistance across EV charging, solar, storage, and microgrid opportunities. The Energy Transition Sales Engineer has responsibility to achieve an assigned sales quota consistent with expectations for the customer base and districts supported. This position has the primary responsibility to manage and coordinate the sales effort within the customer/distributor base assigned to grow and support the Energy Transition Space. The Energy Transition Sales Engineer will sell assigned product lines to the Energy Transition Customers in identified areas in the Golf Region. The key market segment will focus on Electrical Vehicle Charging Infrastructure but will also include Solar, Storage and Microgrid opportunities in the assigned areas. Extensive knowledge of the Market area is a must for this opportunity. The position’s primary objective is to optimize sales volume, product mix and profit margin. Specific functions include Drive increase in sales in the marketplace, Management and development in customer relationships, Providing sales and technical assistance to distributors, customers, end users, and specifier, Develop a proven record of achieving assigned sales quota, Develop and implement sales plans, Responsiveness to market conditions and competitive activities, Communicate market conditions to Eaton product divisions, leaders and peers. Role also includes to be cooperative and have credible working relationship with other company employees to assure customer satisfaction as well as Managing expense allowances and submit expense reports in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum (3) years of electrical industry experience
  • Possess a valid and unrestrictive driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Manage prospects, maintain and improve key customer relationships
  • Part of NAS responsible for RFI, RFP, and RFQ responses for EATON ELECTRICAL solutions related to Energy Transition
  • Provide effective communication and report out market and customer dynamics and growth opportunities in the space to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage Partner team and Prospects in technical sales aspects of EATON ELECTRICAL ’s solutions
  • Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines, and use sound business judgment to enhance margins
  • Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits
  • Site walks, project scoping, quotation and order management/execution for Energy Transition customers.
  • Energy Transition Electrical BOS equipment and EVCI system knowledge
  • Interact with design and build partners for project development and deployment
  • Relationship building and developing channel programs to Partner’s Sales, Marketing and Executive teams; nurture long term collaborative channel partnership
  • Annual Growth Plan for direct sales, channel, and partner sales
  • Sales training to Partner teams
  • Grow and develop new sales and new customers in the Energy Transition space.
