About The Position

Energy Engineer Energy Efficiency Programs Location: Remote Washington State (Seattle, WA Metro Area) Ready to make a difference? ICF is growing its energy program implementation team to support new and existing contracts in the region. Our clients include energy utilities, recognizable Fortune 500 corporations, and a variety of Federal, State, and local governmental agencies. We are seeking an Energy Engineer to support our energy efficiency and electrification programs in the Western US. What you will be doing: Work with customers, vendors, account reps, and cooperatives to develop energy efficiency and/or electrification projects in utility-sponsored programs, which include multifamily and/or commercial facilities. Perform field audits to understand and document the customer’s current operations and motivations, while identifying opportunities to implement energy efficiency and/or electrification. Work with customers and other stakeholders to scope the potential opportunities. Perform technical calculations to quantify the baseline and measure case conditions and potential savings, cost, and other relevant parameters. Write detailed reports documenting existing conditions, proposed measures and as built operating conditions, project savings and other cost effectiveness parameters. Conduct site inspection to verify installation and operation of energy efficient equipment. Perform cost effectiveness calculations of various energy efficiency measures using the CEDARS (CA) cost effectiveness tool. Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is : $74,090.00 - $125,954.00 Washington Remote Office (WA99)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Energy Resources, Physical Sciences or related discipline
  • 2+ years of energy efficiency experience performing engineering calculations and/or field work related to HVAC, lighting, pumping, hot water or related energy efficiency measures and/or related experience
  • Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated familiarity with various Washington State deemed and custom project requirements.
  • Technical consulting experience.
  • 1+ years of VBA coding and/or Python scripting experience.
  • Field experience working on multifamily and/or commercial energy efficiency or related equipment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Washington State Energy Code, Washington Clean Building Standard, Seattle Energy Code, Seattle Benchmarking and/or similar requirements in Washington.
  • Familiar with QPLs, including DLC, Energy Star, AHRI and/or NEEA.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with evaluating energy efficiency cost effectiveness including use of CEDARS (CA).
  • Demonstrated familiarity with California Energy Codes including Title 20 and Title 24.
  • Familiarity with both electric and natural gas end use equipment as it applies to multifamily and commercial end uses.
  • Familiarity with whole building modeling tools, including Energy Plus, eQuest. EnergyPro, and/or other whole building energy modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with DERs, electrification and/or renewable technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience using the RTF resources for deemed measures and custom standard protocols.
