Now we’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineer who is passionate about precision, process improvement, and innovation to help elevate quality across our manufacturing operations and global supply chain. This is more than a traditional quality engineering role. You’ll help shape the future of quality at Leatherman by: • Implementing AI-enabled quality tools and automation • Leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning to improve manufacturing performance • Driving plant-wide quality strategy and capability improvements • Mentoring technicians and helping build a strong quality culture

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of quality engineering experience (or 5+ years with a Master’s degree)
  • Strong expertise in SPC, process capability, and statistical analysis
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Ability to interpret GD&T, engineering drawings, and 3D models
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with CMM, vision systems, and advanced metrology technologies
  • Experience designing custom gauges and inspection fixtures
  • Strong communication and leadership presence

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex quality problem solving across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC), process capability analysis, and advanced analytics to drive improvements
  • Champion AI-enabled quality tools and automation to modernize quality systems
  • Develop metrology strategies and measurement systems to ensure precision and repeatability
  • Improve manufacturing process capability and stability in a high-volume production environment
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) including control plans, metrology strategies, and supplier qualification
  • Partner with suppliers to strengthen supplier quality and capability
  • Lead root cause analysis and CAPA initiatives using structured methodologies like DMAIC, A3, and 5 Whys
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variation, scrap, rework, and quality risk
