About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of New Mexico is seeking a Sr Program Manager to lead the Continuum of Care (CoC) project, a long-standing initiative focused on enhancing community-based health services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) across New Mexico. This position is based off-campus near the Albuquerque Airport and plays a critical role in overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring contract deliverables are met. The Senior Program Manager will provide direct supervision to administrative personnel and operational support to clinical staff, ensuring they have the resources and infrastructure needed to perform their duties. The role includes strategic planning, budget oversight, stakeholder engagement, and coordination of educational and outreach activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator and serve as a key liaison with state agencies, healthcare providers, and community partners. This is a grant-funded position, renewed annually based on continued funding. The position offers a unique opportunity to lead a mission-driven program that impacts policy, education, and service delivery for the I/DD community. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Two of which are management level experience
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in program or project management, preferably in a healthcare, public health, or community-based setting
  • Experience supervising administrative staff and managing day-to-day operations
  • Familiarity with New Mexico's Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver and I/DD service systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience coordinating educational programs, trainings, or outreach initiatives
  • Ability to work independently at an off-site location and maintain effective collaboration with remote teams and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of contract management, budgeting, and reporting in a grant-funded environment
