Sr Program Control Analyst

About The Position

Viasat is seeking a new team member to support program control activities within its Government Services division. This role will report directly to the Program Control Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to support a new program from inception and act as a business partner to the PM. As a Senior Program Control Specialist, you will play a significant role by supporting the planning, tracking, analysis and reporting of various types of programs. You will collaborate with the project group to build, maintain and status program schedules in MS Project. You will integrated schedule updates from subcontractors monthly. You will act as key advisor to the PM and will influence good decisions for the program, company, and customer. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the Cost Baseline and Estimates at Completion. You will supervise program costs across multiple colors of money/funding sources. Your attention to detail will allow you to analyze schedule impacts, perform “what if” scenarios and help to develop recovery plans applying Critical Path methodologies and other metrics. You will bring to bear your knowledge related to Earned Value Management to provide performance information for the program team. Working across our multifaceted Program Control team, you will interface daily with Program Managers, finance personnel, functional groups and engineering staff in a team environment specifically crafted to achieve program and professional success.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a technical field, or equivalent experience, is desired
  • MS Project scheduling experience in a high-tech engineering environment
  • Must be proficient in MS PowerPoint, Advanced Excel skills, and a mastery of Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience supporting full Earned Value Management programs with cost or schedule deliverables as well as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EVMS Guidelines, DoD EVMSIG
  • Experience creating IPMR/IPMDAR reports for submission to customers
  • Prior experience as a Program Control Analyst, Program Scheduler, or Program Finance Analyst
  • Attention to details required for the creation of Work Authorization Documents (WAD), Control Account Plans (CAP), and Variance Analysis Reports (VAR)
  • Proven track record of team leadership, problem solving, performance analysis, using program management techniques and achieving the goals of the program and business area
  • Experience running programs supported by various funding streams
  • Collaboration and organizational skills
  • 10 years shown experience
  • U.S. government position. US citizenship required
  • Up to 10% travel

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • forProject and Oracle experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Government DoD contracts
  • Understanding of government Cost Accounting Standards and the FAR
  • Experience with Production Schedules
