About The Position

Under limited supervision, individual will be responsible, within a team environment, for various aspects of the day-to-day facilitation and oversight of approximately 575 U.S. P-memberships in ISO technical committees and subcommittees addressing the full scope of ISO program activities, including the facilitation of U.S. P membership activities related to ISO/IEC JTC 1. This includes providing guidance to the U.S. TAG Administrators and Chairs on subjects related to U.S. participation in the international standardization activities of ISO. In addition, the individual will interface with the Committee Managers and Chairs of ANSI-delegated ISO secretariats on subjects related to policies and procedures (ISO Directives) for the development of ISO international standards, and for the management of ISO international committees. The individual will respond to requests for information from ANSI members and the general public on standards activities in these areas. The individual will provide program support for ANSI’s ISO outreach and enhanced services activities. The individual will interface as necessary with ANSI international policy staff, and staff directly administering ISO and JTC 1 secretariats. Individual will be a member of the ISO Team (ISOT) and will work under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager, ISO Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years’ work experience in an office environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with ISO, IEC, and US/TAG policies and procedures
  • Capable of working in, interfacing and navigating multiple online document libraries.
  • Proven high-caliber organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to handle own correspondence.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently; able to prioritize workload, handle details and follow through on actions.
  • Ability to interact with highly skilled professionals in both a national and international environment.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and solid judgment when operating in a highly political environment.
  • Software: Familiar with MS Office, database and document management programs (i.e. Filemaker and Sharepoint).

Responsibilities

  • Will participate in a team environment to provide support for approximately 575 ISO P-memberships related to all ISOT core functions (voting, meeting management, document distribution, and expert nomination, contact management, and expense/revenue tracking), responsibilities will include: Advising U.S. TAG Administrators and Chairs on ANSI and ISO policies and procedures
  • Advising Committee Managers and Chairs of ANSI-delegated ISO secretariats on ANSI and ISO policies and procedures
  • Responding to verbal, written and electronic inquiries for information from ANSI members and the general public on ISO standardization activities
  • Responding to verbal, written and electronic inquiries from international committee members, ANSI members and ANSI customers on status of international standards
  • Data analysis and development of reporting mechanisms to track performance of U.S. entities participating in ISO
  • Generating billing reports, invoices, and maintenance of P-membership and Secretariat gives/takes.
  • Will act as mentor to other team members and help in training new team members or existing team members on new duties
  • Will be cross-trained on other team members core functions and projects to provide support and back-up as needed
  • Will provide program support for one or more ISO outreach and enhanced services engagements including: Expense management and invoicing as well as related tracking; Program analysis and assessment.
  • Will provide program support for one or more ANSI virtual technical advisory groups (VTAG).
  • Will be responsible for working with ISOT management in upgrading and improving services related to U.S. voting, position development, meeting attendance, expert participation, document management, and other contributions to international standardization activities.
  • Will generate relevant reports related to ISOT core functions and provide summary analysis for recommended ISOT action.
  • Will participate in and provide input to the ANSI ISO Forum (AIF) meetings.
  • Will demonstrate proficiency in use all of electronic systems used by ISOT to carry out essential job functions.
  • Will assist in the implementation of ANSI management policies and administrative decisions and generate relevant guidance to ISOT stakeholders.
  • Will assist in the maintenance of ANSI required training materials and participate in the coordination and delivery of course content to ISOT stakeholders and related compliance tracking.
  • Will provide support to staff directly administering ISO and JTC 1 secretariats, as required.
  • As an employee of ANSI, you shall adhere to the following requirements of the Information Security Management System (ISMS): Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date.
  • Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures.
  • Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy - or known encroachments on information security - to your department leader and/or the Information Technology Department.
  • Will assist the department Managers, and/or Director with special projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date.
  • Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures.
  • Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy - or known encroachments on information security - to your department leader and/or the Information Technology Department.
