To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com As a Senior Procedure Writer, you will be instrumental in advancing business process excellence across CIBC’s Private, Personal, and Digital Banking teams. You will partner with a broad range of subject matter experts and stakeholders to document, standardize, and continuously enhance business procedures. By working closely with business units and support functions, you will develop clear, actionable, and compliant procedures that foster operational efficiency, support regulatory requirements, and enable consistent, high-quality outcomes. Requirements

  • You have strong written communication and documentation abilities, able to translate complex processes into clear, concise, actionable procedures.
  • You bring experience in process mapping and improvement, identifying gaps and optimizing workflows.
  • You are proficient with procedure management and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe
  • You excel at stakeholder engagement, collaborating effectively with subject matter experts and business partners.
  • You possess project management skills, organizing and tracking multiple tasks to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field (3-5 years of experience preferred).
  • Experience in banking/financial services (credit experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of compliance, risk management, and internal controls preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Map and Document Processes: Analyze, document, and standardize business procedures by collaborating with stakeholders to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Engage Stakeholders Effectively: Build strong relationships with subject matter experts and business partners, gathering input to create actionable procedures.
  • Maintain Quality and Consistency: Apply standardized templates, style guides, and version control to ensure all procedures are clear, consistent, and compliant with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Manage Projects and Priorities: Organize and track multiple tasks, ensuring timely updates and delivery of procedure documentation aligned with business needs.

  • This role has an expected salary range of $95,000 - $125,000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
  • The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
