Sr Power Generation Engineer - Steam Turbine

NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is looking for a Senior Engineer for the Steam Turbine Fleet Team (STFT) in Engineering and Operations Support Services (EOSS). This position will include responsibilities for leading technical support for a large fleet of steam turbines, both fossil and nuclear units, with ownership of troubleshooting, work/outage planning, and fleet reliability improvements. Additionally, this role will include working on strategic initiatives with the ongoing Reimagine and FCWE efforts to reduce forced outage rates, O&M expense, and to improve overall fleet reliability and availability. Employees in this role have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas for investigation, and development of novel concepts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- 4+ years of experience
Responsibilities
- Leading technical support for a large fleet of steam turbines, both fossil and nuclear units
- Ownership of troubleshooting, work/outage planning, and fleet reliability improvements
- Working on strategic initiatives with the ongoing Reimagine and FCWE efforts to reduce forced outage rates, O&M expense, and to improve overall fleet reliability and availability
- Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs
- Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field
- Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
