About The Position

This individual will report to the Director, Supply Chain Flavors NA. This is a senior management position within the Flavors NA Supply Chain team. This position’s primary focus will be the design, development and execution of the logistics and distribution regional network for Flavors NA production sites. This role drives operational excellence, service performance (OTIF), inventory accuracy, transportation optimization and continuous improvement across the end-to-end logistics and distribution network. This role will be responsible for step-changing performance of all processes within the logistics and warehouse network: talent development, process governance, space optimization, and inbound/outbound execution. This leader partners cross-functionally with Supply Planning, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Procurement and Finance to balance service, cost and inventory objectives.

  • Education: Four-year university degree in supply chain, operations management, or business administration, supplemented with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain field.
  • Technology: SAP experience preferred.
  • Practical experience with WMS required.
  • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software. Applications within a windows based operating environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and evolve the logistics and distribution network design for the Flavors NA production sites.
  • Identify and implement key metrics to ensure optimal warehouse and transportation network execution.
  • Lead the team responsible for all inbound and outbound transportation operations, including carrier selection, routing, and freight optimization.
  • Oversee relationships with 3PL providers, carriers, brokers, and distribution partners.
  • Subject matter expert supporting projects across the North American network of flavor production sites.
  • Partner with the operations leadership team on network execution
  • Establish SLA with operations leadership on network execution to support operations.
  • Clear identification of KPIs and measurements needed to guide daily action and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with all departments and other ADM business units to support initiatives.
  • Responsible for seeking, vetting, and implementing best in class technology to support transportation and warehouse operations and material flow through the network.
  • Assess and provide ongoing visibility to space and material movement capacity across warehousing network.
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities – transportation network and lane optimization.
  • Warehouse footprint strategy and distribution flow improvements
  • Responsible for the future development of 3PL capabilities including materials receipt, sampling, finished product labeling, and outbound shipping.
  • Maintain an understanding of all regulatory regulations and customer requirements that influence our materials, production processes, and transportation requirements.
  • Champion cross functional projects and initiatives to support business execution and future growth.
  • Lead efforts to adapt business practices and processes to align with our customers’ evolving needs.
  • Provide clear EHS leadership across the warehouse network and the end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Actively gather and share best practices across flavor production sites and other business units across ADM.
  • Help support and mature S&OP processes to properly tie operational excellence with flawless customer service.

  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders across the business unit to ensure all leadership and teams are aligned on business direction and project prioritization.
  • Provide strategic alignment of supply chain processes with the commercial goals for the organization.

  • Maintain a robust understanding of the raw material and product portfolios and how it impacts our daily business.
  • Acts as a key resource for training, development, and mentorship of teams and individuals.
  • Proficient understanding of all information systems and processes connected to the value chain.
  • Approach changing, challenging situations with focus on customer order fulfillment and ADM’s best interest.
  • Have a clear understanding and working knowledge of ADM information technology systems.
