Job Description The Senior Manufacturing Manager – VE Cleanroom is responsible for leading all aspects of Vacuum Envelope (VE) cleanroom manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production in support of quality, cost, delivery, and customer commitments. This role provides strategic and day‑to‑day leadership for cleanroom assembly, inspection, and supporting processes, while driving continuous improvement, capacity optimization, and workforce development. This position requires a strong combination of technical manufacturing knowledge, cleanroom discipline, people leadership, and operational execution in a highly regulated, precision manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including leadership roles in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of people management experience, leading supervisors and/or managers.
  • Strong understanding of cleanroom manufacturing, contamination control, and precision assembly processes.
  • Demonstrated experience driving operational improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change, growth, and operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Vacuum Envelope (VE), TWT, RF/Microwave, or similar high‑reliability products.
  • Experience supporting NPI and process scale‑up in a cleanroom environment.
  • Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end VE cleanroom manufacturing operations, including assembly, inspection, rework, and material flow.
  • Ensure strict adherence to cleanroom protocols, contamination control, EHS requirements, and quality standards.
  • Own production performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and yield for VE manufacturing.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Identify capacity constraints and develop staffing, equipment, and process strategies to support demand.
  • Directly manage manufacturing supervisors and/or leads; provide leadership to a highly skilled cleanroom workforce.
  • Set clear expectations, coach performance, and develop succession plans for key roles.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development for cleanroom manufacturing personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and respect for cleanroom discipline.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving initiatives to improve yield, throughput, and cycle time.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality, yield, or delivery issues.
  • Partner with Engineering to support NPI transitions and process validations within the cleanroom.
  • Support capital equipment planning, justification, and implementation for cleanroom operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal and external audits, including customer and quality system audits.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure EHS requirements are fully embedded in cleanroom operations.
  • Serve as a key manufacturing leader within the operations organization.
  • Communicate clearly with senior leadership regarding risks, opportunities, and performance metrics.
  • Support cross‑functional initiatives aligned with business and operational objectives.
