The Irvine facility is a cornerstone of Medtronic Neurovascular and Peripheral Vascular businesses. These include neurovascular, peripheral vascular and minimally invasive devices. As the Sr Manufacturing Manager you will plan, direct and coordinate all aspects of the Value Stream and all associated processes at the enterprise level; in accordance with company objectives and operating budgets to satisfy safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements. This includes but is not limited to coordinating activities with a cross functional team including engineering, purchasing, materials movement, scheduling, manufacturing, and in- process quality functions.

Requirements

  • Must Have: Minimum Requirements To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant Manufacturing, Warehouse and Distribution experience within a highly regulated industry and 5+ years of Managerial experience; OR an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant Manufacturing, Warehouse and Distribution experience within a highly regulated industry and 5+ years of Managerial experience.
  • Management Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software, Effective Communication Skills.
  • Functional Skills: Machining and Manufacturing Technologies, Proficient computer skills, Data Science and Analysis, Lean Manufacturing and continued improvement, Managing Quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical Sciences.
  • Master of Science / Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Medical Device Manufacturing experience within a cleanroom environment.
  • Experience effectively leveraging Gemba Walks.
  • DMAIC Lean / Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience leading Kaizen events.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, including P&L or cost center management.
  • Experience building and sustaining direct labor engagement programs.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of employees.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Plans and administers procedures and budgets.
  • Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
  • Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
  • Develops schedules and workforce requirements for assigned areas.
  • Embrace the Medtronic Performance System (MPS) and implement One Best Way practices to improve local manufacturing and business processes.
  • Conduct daily Gemba walks to observe & understand the health of the overall system, processes & workflows to understand the key opportunities and where to best direct short, medium and long-term improvement activity & resources.
